You Are Creating a List, Aren't You?

You've probably seen the picture of the young man on the traffic exchanges asking, "What makes you surf one exchange over another?"

He lists a number of possible responses with "Other" at the end. And, to submit your answer you've got to fill in your name and email address.

Guess what? He's creating a list.

What his ultimate goal is I don't know. He may be working on creating his own traffic exchange. By finding out why people select one traffic exchange over another he's positioned to create one that will attract a large number of people. And, with his list, he can let people know about his new traffic exchange that has exactly what they want.

But, how about you? Are you creating your own list?

Perhaps you want to sell an affiliate product (or even your own product). You've included your affiliate link as one of the URLs in your traffix exchange accounts.

When your credits are used to display the affiliate site, they may buy or sign up for a newsletter on that site. And, guess what. You've lost them.

So, how can you capture them before they get to the affiliate site?

Create your own page with an captivating, intriguing headline, a few bullet points, and a mailing list signup form. Make all this related to the affiliate product you want to promote. You can add some graphics or pictures to make your page all the more compelling.

Now, that you can captured their name and email address you have a list.

You can send them a limited autoresponder series about the subject of your product. As they come to trust you, they will be more receptive to purchase your recommended product. So, you will eventually provide your affiliate link for them to make a purchase.

Or, you can actually start sending out newsletters. Weekly or monthly you'll probably find a number of related topics you can include in your newsletter. If you're having a hard time writing you can always go to one of the article sources on the net to get articles to include in your newsletter. So, you need to create a lead capture page. You've seen lots of example pages on the traffic exchanges already.

To make something really neat you'll need a graphics program to edit and modify images. And you'll need some HTML skills to put your images and text all together.
