Building a list is the easiest way to make money on the Internet. You'll send out newsletters to your list and recommend products to your list members. When they make a purchase you'll get a commission. The larger you list the more money you'll make. You've heard the often repeated phrase, "The money is in the list."
But most people think building a list is hard. So, how can it be easy?
Building a list is a lot easier than failing year after year. You can struggle with AdSense ads, SEO, reciprocal links and a host of other was to rise above the crowd. While a few seem to make money, most people never seem to find the right combination of techniques.
Building a list is not that difficult if you are willing to work a bit. You'll have to do a few things right to start building a successful list.
The most important thing is to find the right environments to present your newsletter offer. In other word, you have to find your target market. You can't expect people interested in dog grooming to respond well to an affiliate marketing opportunities newsletter.
So, you need to think creatively about the interests of your target market. For example, do people who might be interested in affiliate marketing have credit problems? Do they have an interest in looking at high priced automobiles or boats? What other newsletters might they already take?
Once you can identify some of the other possible interests of your target market, you can then locate alternative and possibly less expensive ways to reach your market. In this way you can add to your list at the lowest possible cost.
Some things you can consider is to buy advertising space in newsletters related to your target market's interest. You may also purchase an ad on websites related to your potential newsletter reader's interests. Just think of all the ways to reach your potential newsletter subscribers.
Another free resource you can examine are manual traffic exchanges. A traffic exchange is a membership site that allows members to view each other's sites. A manual traffic exchange is one that requires you to click a variable image or button to proceed to the next page.
Traffic exchange members are interested to getting traffic to their sites. While member's sites are often money making opportunity offers, there are members who are interested in just about every topic there is.

Do traffic exchanges work as a means of finding subscribers to newsletters?
The short answer if a definite "Yes." A quarter of the pages you view on a traffic exchange ask for your email address right off the bat. Another 38% of pages direct you to a second page that asks for your email address. And still more will ask for your email address on a later page.
Whether you're using traffic exchanges or other means, you'll need to present a page that asks for your visitor's email address and their name. But, most people need an incentive to give out their email address. After all, who wants just another junk email sitting in the In Box?
So, you'll need to offer your visitor something they want. This will usually be a free ebook or a special report.
If you really are interested in publishing a newsletter, you should be able to combine several articles into a report, or even a short ebook. Then, offer that ebook or article as a free gift for those who sing up for your newsletter.
To recap. You need to find ways to inexpensively contact your target market. You'll then offer them something free when they sign up for your newsletter. Then, you're free to contact them as long as they are members of your opt-in list. And, that means you will be recommending products to them that will earn you commissions.
